NOTE: Walk-in registration on the day of the clinic will be accepted for an additional $10 fee. However, limited space is available. Only cash, money orders or personal checks will be acceptable for payment at this time.

Assistant Athletics Director, Strength & Conditioning

Coach Connors is in his sixth year of his second stint as Assistant Athletics Director for Strength and Conditioning at East Carolina. His collegiate coaching career began as the Head S&C Coach at Bucknell from 1987-­91 before coming to East Carolina in 1991 where he part of five bowl appearances and developed 15 NFL Draft picks. Before returning to ECU in 2011, he held the same position at the University of North Carolina. Coach Connors has received many honors throughout his career including being inducted into the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 2011, named Master S&C Coach by the CSCCa, and most recently, a Registered S&C Coach Emeritus by the NSCA.

Mark Watts

Mark Watts is a fifth grade teacher in Columbus, Ohio. Formerly, Watts was the Director of Education at elitefts.com and the host of the Elitefts Sports Performance Podcast. He has a Masters Degree in Exercise Science & Health Promotion from California University of PA and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Clarion University of PA. He has held professional certifications through the NSCA, CSCCa, NASM, and USAW. Watts has worked with college athletes in over 20 different sports at the Division I, II & III levels for over 15 years as a strength & conditioning and/or football coach at institutions such as Denison University, The United States Military Academy at West Point, Allegheny College and Clarion University. Watts played college football at Clarion University and has competed in powerlifting, strongman, and Olympic Weightlifting.

Matt Wenning

Competitive Power Lifter, Owner, and Coach


Matt Wenning holds the current World Records for Raw Squat of 832 lbs and Equipped Squat of 1197 lbs. He is also the former all time World Record Holder with a 2665 lb total and has won numerous state and national championships. Combine that with a Masters Degree in Biomechanics and a Bachelors in Exercise Science and it's fair to say that Matt is one of the most knowledgeable lifters on the planet. Matt is the Director and Co-Founder of MAW, directing over 6000 troops in strength, conditioning and wellness for the U.S. Army. Over 10,000 hours experience working with and training Division 1-A athletes, including NFL players and Olympic competitors. He is also the Strength and Wellness Coordinator for Washington Township Fire Department, developing long term training protocols for 135 firemen and administration personnel.

Donnie is the first human to ever total 3,000 lbs. He has 8 All-time World Records including 3 in Bench Press, 2 in Squat, and 3 Totals. He has worked in the Strength Training and Performance Physical Therapy industries since retiring from competition. He now works with athletes abroad teaching and implementing Strength Performance Therapy. Specializing in ankles, hips/lowerback and shoulder where his methods have become protocols worldwide.Leo Totten

Leo Totten is the owner of Totten Training Systems, LLC. He has been the Head Coach of East Coast Gold Weightlifting Team, where he coached 10 time National Men’s Team Champions, 7 time National Women’s Team Champions, as well as numerous national and regional champions. Leo also has over 30 years experience as an Olympic weightlifting coach, clinician for USA Weightlifting, training High School and College athletes, and in Physical Education and Athletic Administration. He has also been coach of two Olympic Teams, three Pan Am Teams, and five World Teams.
