2013 Youth Camps
Youth Camp II
For: Ages 8-18
Dates: August 6-9
Hours: 9:00- 2:30 pm
Optional One Day Hitting Camp
For: Ages 8-18
Dates: August 5th
Hours: 2:00- 6:00 pm
Campers will be broken into groups by age and ability levels.
This is what you can expect to work on while at camp: Stance, Balance, Mechanics, Situational Hitting & Swing Path for hitting. Mental preparation, hitting philosophy, hand-eye coordination drills for all aspects of the game, opposite field hitting (staying inside the baseball), hitting with two strikes and hitting off-speed pitches. Bunting, base running with leads, steals, etc. Infield play and mechanics, huge reps, tweaks, turns, feeds. Outfield play - including throwing from the outfield routes, positions, jumps, footwork. Pitchers throw during daily scrimmages. Pitching balance, delivery, pitches, grips & more. Catcher Skills receiving, blocking, throwing & more. Daily scrimmage games to put all together!
Note: All players will also have the option to train in multiple positions and specific areas of their choice.
Location: will be conducted at Triton Ballpark at the University of California San Diego
*All Campers should check in at Triton Ballpark by 8:30am on the morning of the first day of camp (July 9th or August 6th).
*Hitting campers will check in at Triton Ballpark by 1:30pm on the 8th.
What to bring: Remember to label all equipment, equipment bags and personal items with your name and contact information.
- Baseball Pants
- Baseball T-shirts or jerseys
- Baseball socks and sliding (compression) shorts
- Cleats or spikes
- Baseball bat and batting gloves
- Helmet (if you have one)
- Baseball glove (mitt for catchers) and catchers gear (catchers only)
- Long sleeve shirts or pullover jacket
- Water bottle
*Additional items to bring IMPORTANT! Photo copy of the front and back of your health insurance card
- Signed Health & Release forms
- Calling Card or Cell Phone
- Sun Block & SPF Lip Balm (Chapstick)
Meals: Lunch will be provided at the fields each day for all campers.'
*Professional Pitching Mechanics or Swing Video Analysis ($50): Players will be evaluated personally with Video Analysis software and have the chance to have their swing and/or their pitching mechanics broken down by a Professional Instructor. Professional Instructors will provide an evaluation of feedback, changes and recommend drills to help fix or improve your swing and/or your pitching mechanics.
*One Day Hitting Camp ($79): We will be conducting an extensive Hitting Camp on July 8th from 2:00pm-6:00pm. This camp will cover every aspect of hitting fundamentals and is a great way to "kick off" the week.
